WASHINGTON, June 22 /Christian Newswire/ -- Concerned Women for America (CWA) is thrilled to announce the selection of Sally Mikesell as State Director for Arizona. Sally has extensive experience in serving the public. She is known for her recent work in the Protect Marriage Amendment Coalition where she worked to collect signatures qualifying the amendment to be placed on the ballot in the November elections. Also, Sally continues to serve as a CWA Prayer/Action Chapter Leader in Tempe, AZ.
Sally became a CWA State Director because she believes that “Christians should be active participants in the development of public policy,” and because she has a desire “to inspire Christians with hope that will give them boldness of speech.” (2 Corinthians 3:12) Some of her goals for her state include: maintaining the momentum of the Steering Committee, building Prayer/Action Chapters in Arizona churches and planning State Conferences and Lobby Days.
As Arizona’s new State Director, she and her terrific Steering Committee members will work with the many members in the state to build additional Prayer/Action Chapters and coordinate CWA’s grassroots activities in legislation and media. CWA’s goals are to preserve the eternal values that support the Biblical design of the family, protect life at all stages, fight pornography and obscenity, tackle the declining quality of education, support the rights of individuals to pray and worship without persecution and increase understanding of the United Nations and its agenda.
Beverly LaHaye founded CWA in 1979. Since that time, CWA has become the nation’s largest public policy women’s organization more than 500,000 members. Its mission is to protect and promote Biblical values among all citizens—first through prayer, then education, and finally by influencing our society—thereby reversing the decline in moral values in our nation.
